As noted in my last post that I found a couple of UFO's in my knitting stash. I am happy to say that I was able to finish up this pair of socks ( only had to finish one of the feet ).
I also finished this Santa sack that was supposed to be a Christmas 2014 gift for a friend. It too was well past the half way point when I abandoned it for greener pastures. It is scheduled to go out in Monday's mail. Better a year or so late than never. Actually I know if I kept it to send to her next Christmas I wouldn't be able to find it.
Once I got my quilty mojo back I started on a baby quilt for a cousins first grand child. Since I shopped my stash for these blocks I am going to use it as my first piece for
I have committed to Cindys BOM 2016 you can find the details here
I got my deer done. ( also from my stash ) Hope I can be as efficient with the remaining months.
For the last few weeks I have been trying to come up with something to do for 365 days in a row. I have tried a couple of things in the past but never got more than 30 days done before fading out.
Then I saw the button for this 365 Project and thought it sounded very doable. I have opted to use only scraps from 2 bags of scraps sent to me by a friend in the Carolina's. There isn't
enough background fabric in her bags to complete this project so I will shop my stash for creams enough to finish. (it won't be a problem)
I cut some circles and some background and pulled together a sewing kit.
Tossed them all into the nifty bag she sent with the scraps and I'm off.
Well I'm off to a good start. It's the 2nd and I have 2 blocks done. I'm hoping that posting will keep me on target.
Off to a wonderfully quilty start to 2016. Hope you are too.
You're off to a great start! It seems there are quite a few of us with the plan to create mostly from our stash this year. I love the idea of your quilty 365. But I'd never survive probably after just a few days. LoL. I'm going to love watching your year long project come together.
ReplyDeleteCute Santa bag; your friend will be so happy to receive it. Then she can worry about finding it next year!;-)
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of making them all from scraps. Mine started like that but now I'm cutting some fabric as I work on new projects. And just like you, I keep them in a ziplock (not as cute as yours.)
Two blocks in, great start. Looks like a fun way to put all those scraps to great use.
ReplyDeleteFinishing hidden UFOs is a great start. I'm not doing the full quilt of Cindy's, but making one small project from each month's block - that will give me 12 gifts by the end of the year. Love your 365 baggy idea - and the baggy!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Quilty 365 - it's a lot of fun and you are off to a good start. I have found that after a week or two it develops its own momentum and then it's not too hard to keep going.
ReplyDeleteYou got the gas-filled year! Wow!
ReplyDeleteI, here, I'm still trying to start the engine... I will inspire me in you.
Hugs!
The deer are adorable! What a wonderful way to use the scraps your friend gifted you in your Quilty 365!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have started the year off right with these accomplishments , love the socks and the baby quilt and oh the deer are just perfect !
ReplyDeleteGreat starts and finishes. The reindeer's are great! Looking forward to reading and seeing your accomplishments in 2016.
ReplyDeleteVery cute Santa bag! And great start on the circles. What a fabulous bag to be keeping them in.:)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good start on the circles. Love that you're using up sent scraps.
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a good start with your circles. Enjoy the ride! Love the project bag!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove your socks! Sounds like 2016 is going to be a fun and productive year for sure!
Hugs!

Love the deer. And I am happy to say that the 365 circles project is alive and well on my WIP list and haven't run out of steam yet. I have 31 circles finished and 32 more are ironed and basted! I'm interested in how you are doing your applique circles. I'm using the cardboard template and starch.
ReplyDeleteThe circles look great, its going to be fun to see how we interpret the game plan!
