Hip, hip hooray, it’s my day. My day to wave a flag that is.
I need to start with the comment that I am not a flag type person. I live in a Townhouse so they don’t work really well here, but that is no reason not to play along. Once I decided on an Easter Flag I pulled out my Easter fabric stash. Lo and behold I found the pieces to an Easter project all cut out and raring to go. My best guess is I started this years ago and didn’t make any progress before Easter so back into the drawer it went.
This is so old I have no recollection of having started it. It started with me pulling out a piece of fabric that I thought would be a great background (the great egg fabric) and found the bunny and tulip pieces nicely folded up inside. I found 2 other incomplete projects in there too. I’m guessing that because Easter moves around from year to year I just didn’t plan my lead time properly .
I have been driving around with the bunnies and the pole for a couple of days now looking for a bright spring like background, but nothing is really springy yet in Central NJ. This picture is taken in front of my Hydrangea which is yet to start to go green. Next week these guys will have a new home in sunny Florida as this Easter Banner is now a gift for friends.
This picture is in my back yard, equally un spring like.
I also like how the blanket stitch looks on the back of the flag.

The other flag project that I found hiding in the Easter drawer is this one. As you can tell it is still incomplete. But you can get the general idea of how it will finish up. I have 3 weeks yet so maybe I’ll get it done for this year. I’ll keep you posted.
I had a great time participating in this hop and want to thank both M Samm and Thearica for all of their time and effort on our behalf. Please stop by and visit the rest of today’s participants. If this is where you are starting it would be great for you to go back and catch all of the talented flag makers and their contributions to this hop.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for taking the time to leave your kind thoughts. Here is today’s list:

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely surprise to find your unfinished bunnies and use them to make this fabulous flag. Thank you sew very much for Hopping and Flag Flying...
ReplyDeleteBunnies and tulips are always a winner. I laughed when I read about you driving around looking for a great picture place. I did the same thing. Nothing is in bloom yet, except for some daffodils in a yard in town that I didn't feel like trespassing into...lol
ReplyDeleteTHis is a wonderful Easter banner and will make a great gift!
What a great find in your stash. How nice that you were able to turn a UFO into a pretty flag. The bunnies and tulips make a lovely spring flag. Now all we need is a little spring. in the northeast. May these bunnies enjoy the warmer clime in Florida where they can nibble the grass year. Thanks for brightening my gray day by sharing in the hop ... :) Pat
ReplyDeleteIt says spring all over it. Great tulips and the bunnies are adorable.
ReplyDeleteYeah, way to get some UFOs out of the way! I think it's hilarious that you drove around looking for a place to set up for a picture, I would totally do that too hahaha! Thank you for sharing your flag, it's lovely.

Hi Selina! Isn't it amazing what we find in our neatly packed piles?! The same thing happened to me with my frogs! I had used the wrong adhesive and couldn't stitch around them but couldn't bear to throw them away...and then there was the flag blog hop.... Anyway, aside from the fact that your flag is cute as can be, your top stitching is so crazy good, I am wishing you could tutor me on how you make it look so perfect?!
ReplyDeleteYour bunny flag is lovely! I really like the fabrics used in it. And another UFO bites the dust! LOL
ReplyDeletevery nice and such a cute easter decoration!
ReplyDeleteWhat super cute flag, those bunnies just get me every time...you can hear me saying...oh look at the cute wittle wabbits.

Sew springy just right for Easter. and the flags on a string looks fun too. I have also found that a large flower pot works well to hold your flag holder
ReplyDeletein stitches
This is so sweet. I live the colorful background you chose for it
ReplyDeleteI adore the bunnies. You are great to finish this project. I've been trying to think of something to make to send to my grandsons in NM for Easter and I just cannot find what I want. I've thought about bunnies and I just can't find what I want. I guess I'm really not in the mood. I took a peak at some of your other posts. I like your quilt in the gray tones - that is awesome. I also saw that you have been knitting chemo caps. I am a breast cancer survivor and want you to know they will be appreciated. I knit (from time to time) chemo caps and preemie hats. My two grandson in NM were both preemies. Thank you for the sharing your wonderful flag and being an inspiration for not only the flag but also for completing UFOs.
ReplyDeleteThey're so cute! Congratulations on getting an old project finished.
ReplyDeleteIt is just so stinkin cute!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteI've also been going thru boxes finding projects started that have long since been pushed out of my mind. Mine aren't as cute as this though... ! Glad I came by to see and be inspired!
What can I say?? You're a genius! Sure to win this one??
