Catching up

I need to slow down on my sewing so I can catch up on my posting.  Several years back I started to blog to keep track of what I was creating.  The problem now is to remember to take the time to do that.   Oh well.

I'm still fabric weaving.  I tried out expanding my board to do a table runner and was quite pleased with how it turned out.  This one measures in at about 13 x 38.

I think I will do this again but I will probably go a bit wider.

I also started a set of place mats for myself.  Got 2 finished before jumping onto something new, as in something with a deadline.

This is the quilt made with the clock running out.  This baby quilt is from the pattern REFLECTIONS by Suziquilts.  Great pattern to follow, well written, quick and accurate.

The gray protion is a Winnie the Pooh print.  The only request by the mom.

I used Winnie for the backing and the gift bag too.   I finished it the morning after the baby was born.

My sister splits her time between Fl and NJ.  Her recent stay in Fl consisted of dreaming up things for me to sew. She has a very creative brain that she feels the need to share with me.

In the last post I highlighted several designs by Joy of Days Filled With Joy  Sissie thought that the designs would make lovely lunch size placemats.  She was, as ususal, correct.

We then tried some mug rugs using the line design option on my embroidery machine. First these palm trees and flowers

then this Celtic design.

While perusing my stash as I was sewing  she found some scraps from way back when.  These Ghastlie scraps go back to one of my first blog hops if not the first.  So many of you who have been following me also participated in it. Ghastlies Blog Hop   Such wonderful memories.  I've learned so much from being part of this blogging family.

Any way back to this post, we whipped up a couple of lunch mats

and a few mug rugs.

There are a couple of more things done but I think I will take a break now and try again for next Sunday.   Til when ever, take care.

  2. Fabric weaving, quilting, embroidering, and a trip down memory lane. You are a whirlwind of sewing! All great projects. How cute the Pooh fabric is. A nice design for a baby quilt. I’ve seen newer ghastlie fabric designs but I think the original designs are the best and a tough act to follow.

  3. Busy, busy, busy. You never cease to amaze with all the things you make. I really like fabric weaving, and though I've only done it once (and made a wristlet from the piece), I'd like to do it again. I'm happy for you to have someone in your life who inspired (?!) and motivates (?!) you. (ha, ha) Never a dull moment, even in retirement, huh?

  4. So many lovely projects but I KNOW you have more to share because I see it IG. With the advent of Instagram I've found that a lot of bloggers do not post as often. For example, I haven't shared on Slammin' the Screen Door blog since January!
