So being true to my word I headed into the quilt room in search of the 2 tops I had started and then put aside. The room is in disaray and fabric doesn't always go back in the drawers that it came from so finding the first project was tough. Thankfully it was a red, white and blue piece so it stood out from the fabrics piled on and under it on the cutting table. I took it out and stuck it to the wall to discover that all it needs is the border. I can't for the life of me figure out what I did next that got me sidetracked so close to a finish line. I will definetly get this top done by Saturday night so it makes it to the Completed in April list.
The second project was also buried in stuff but I did remember putting all of the pieces done to that point in a plastic lettuce container for safe keeping. All I needed todo was look for a big lump. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the 48 9 patch blocks were pretty much complete and I was up to the sashing which when complete puts pinwheels in between the corners of the blocks. i think I stopped this one because I didn't know what color pinwheels I wanted. Hopefully we will have a sunny weekend so I can audition fabrics in good light. Maybe I will then be able to get this done in the next couple of week.
Take care. me

I HAVE FOLLOWERS
I can't begin to tell you how excited I am, I just discovered that I have 2 followers. Woo Hoo Woo Ho just doesn't cover it, but thank you both.
I check out many blogs on a daily basis but I don't actually know how to be a real follower but now that I know how good it feels I will make a concerted effort to learn how to do it the right way so others can get this tingle.
Ok so I hope everyone had a good Easter, or Passover. We do both at our house and both were good. Lots of family time and down time which for me means time to quilt. Lets not mention how much food. Thankfully I was able to send home most of the Ham and it's fixings with my sister's family.
I decided to make a list of what I have Finished so far this year and what things I have started this year, you know the UFO's and WIP's. I made a wonderful discovery about myself. I truely view a finished quilt top as a finished project. When I want to quilt and bind one of the many tops in the drawer it's a whole new project or WIP. So in the last week I did move one project from WIP to finished. I just didn't get a photo of it yet.
Making the list actually reminded me of 2 tops in progress that I will actually work on (maybe not finish) before starting either of the 2 I thought I'd be starting this week. One of them will be a great leader/ender for the other. I'll let you know how that works out.
Have a great week. Selina

Another Project Started
I still haven't managed to quilt the baby quilt that I sandwiched last week, or was that 2 weeks ago but I did start something new. A friend sent me a draft of a string block she was thinking of making. I am not a huge fan of strings. Make the occasional string quilt only because the little buggers multipy in the dark. Anyway I redrafted the block using 1.5 inch strips knowing I had some in the stash. spent the better part of the last 3 days whipping up these blocks. They are 12.5 inches unfinished.
need to think how i want to finish up. I'm thinking maybe a brown or dark green sashing and some cornerstones.
time will tell.

Good Week
Was very productive this week. One of my accomplishments is this table topper for the spring. It is based on the tutorial by Beth, at Love Laugh Quilt from 12/8/10 ( I still don't know how to do a blog address, soon I hope )
This is the spring/summer version. It is backed with a red, white and blue for summer. I originally made table toppers from this tutorial in December for a few friends as Christmas gifts. I have a friend, who I have been making Christmas gifts for, for as long as I can remember. This year after she saw this table topper backed with fall colors
she sent me a wonderful thank you note wondering when she would receive the spring/summer version.
So I did manage to get it done and delivered before Easter.
